The Noise Group has its premises in the Humane Environment Research Center, Faculty of Architecture and Design, National University of Rosario (UNR). Its aim is to focus on different research activities related to environmental noise, particularly, urban noise.

Currently several joint research projects are being carried out with the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering, and Surveying, and the Advanced Technical School of Architecture of Vallés, Polytechnic University of Catalunya, Spain, regarding urban noise, noise mapping and traffic noise simulation.

The Noise Group has obtained recently an important Grant from the National Agency for Science and Technology of the Secretariat of Science and Technology (Ministry of Education and Culture). The project is titled "Design of a methodology for the assessment of noise pollution in urban centers of different sizes", submitted to the 1999 contest for projects in science and technology reearch. It is to be completed in a three-year period, starting in 2001.

The project "Dynamic Urban Analysis" has also been accepted by the Agency though it hasn't been granted finnancal support as yet.

Servicios a la Comunidad.

The Noise Group offers different services to the community through agreements with governmental agencies and private organizations, such as analysis of urban pollution, acoustical consultancy, acoustic environmental statements, and noise mapping.
